FREE PATTERN!
The theme for this past Beaver Island Quilt Retreat was Baskets. Here is the pattern for one of eleven basket quilts I made in preparation for the retreat. This quilt is made with 15 pieced baskets and 15 alternate blocks worked in red work. The red work designs are from Gwen Marston's Needlework Designs. AQS, 2006. This collection of original designs are for quilting, applique and red work.
Here are the CUT sizes for the 10 inch finished basket blocks
A. Cut 2 7/8 inch squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to make triangles.
B. Cut 8 7/8 inch squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to make triangles.
C. Cut 2.5 inch X 6.5 inch rectangles.
D. Cut 4 7/8 inch squares. Cut diagonally in one direction to make triangles.
Handles: Make 1/2 inch finished bias and machine top stitch in place.
